Yes! This is the course the State requires anyone 18-24 to take in order to get their learner’s permit or driver’s license. Even if you’re new to Texas, born in another country, or over 25 and have never had a driver’s license, we are approved by TEA to teach you too! We can help you get out onto the road, by teaching what you need to know to get on the road and giving you the confidence you need. Our course includes video lessons, custom-created animations, engaging audio, and easy-to-understand questions.

We ship your certificate directly from Plano, Texas, so that you can receive your certificate as soon as possible and get on the road. For Regular Mail, we use the United States Post Office and it usually takes 3-6 days depending on your location in relation to Plano, Texas. Some out-of-state courses can take as long as seven (7) or more days to get your certificate to you and we believe that you deserve your certificate sooner to put all that you’ve learned into practice and make it work for you on the road.

The state requires the course to take a minimum of six (6) hours, spread out over each chapter so that you spend a minimum amount of time in each chapter.

The course must be completed within 90 days (3 months) of payment. It must also take a minimum of six (6) hours as mandated by the state.
- How do you select and/or create the questions that I will be asked throughout the course? Back to top
There are three (3) general types of questions for this course. Some questions are located within the curriculum, after video or audio and these questions are meant to test your understanding of the curiculum. Some questions are located at the end of each chapter and are a review of the overall chapter. The last set of questions are at the end of course on the two final exams (and you must get a 70% or greater on both exams) for your learners permit or drivers license. These are actual questions drawn from a group of questions created by the Texas Department of Public Safety. Questions may vary from student to student.

Yes, we support iOS 4.x or greater on the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch (using WiFi). We also support Android 2.3 or greater and recommend the use of a tablet with Android for the best experience. We do not recommend taking this course using a mobile 3G connection (although a 4G or LTE connection may be sufficient; please check with your service provider about coverage in your area). Please note that in iOS 4.x or greater, you will need to click on the Play button to start video or audio, it will not auto-play/auto-start. This is a feature built-in to iOS to conserve data usage on these mobile devices.
- What is the timer in the curriculum for? Does it count against me? Back to top
The chapter timer (next to the chapter questions progress bar) is the minimum amount of time that you must stay in that chapter. The state requires that the course takes a minimum of 6 hours to complete and a student may not complete the course faster than 6 hours. The chapter timers spread out the required 6 hours based on the content in the course. In some cases, it may take you longer to finish a chapter or it may take you less time to finish the chapter. You may not move on in the course, however, until the chapter timer has finished counting down.
- Do the questions throughout the course count against me? Back to top
The questions that are scattered throughout the curriculum (after videos and at the end of chapters) do not count against you in receiving a certificate of completion but are there for you to judge your understanding and comprehension of the curriculum materials. The questions at the end of the course (the final exams) do count against you and you must complete both final exams with a 70% or higher.

The final exam is divided into two exams: twenty (20) questions over road rules and twenty (20) questions over road signs. You must pass both tests with a 70% or greater to receive a certificate and you have three (3) attempts on each test.
- What will happen if I fail the final exam? Back to top
You will get three (3) attempts each to pass the both final exams. If you fail the third time on either final exam, then you will loose any training credit and must retake the course, which includes signing up and paying for the course again, as mandated by the state.
- How current is the information in the course? Back to top
All of the information in the course is based on statistics from 2008 or newer. All statistics are based on the information collected by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a federal government agency with the most accurate and relevant information.
- How do I request a refund? Back to top
You may request a refund if it has not been more than 30 days since the course was paid for, if you have not started (or finished) either of the final exams, and if you have not expired (90 days after the course was paid for). You can request a refund by contacting us by phone and refunds are sent back to the account or credit/debit card that the charge was originally made on. In some cases, and at the sole discretion of TexasAdultDriversEducation.com, it may be necssary for a refund to be sent via postal mail as a refund check.
- What can I do if the video or audio is not playing? Back to top
The video and audio throughout the course uses HTML5 to play. HTML5 is the newest standard in browser technology and in some cases specific features are unsupported or unworkable in different browser and hardware combinations. All video and audio is set to auto-play/auto-start as soon as the video or audio is able to do so. In some browsers, the video or audio must be fully downloaded before it will play or you may need to actually click on the Play button for the video or audio to start playing. In some cases, slightly less high-quality video or audio is needed for smoother video or audio playback on older hardware. Please contact us by phone if you are still having trouble playing video or audio. For lower quality video or audio, you may need to install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player (available for free at https://www.adobe.com/go/getflash/; find currently installed version).
